WHAT IS SPRAY BONDED NONWOVEN?

Spray bonding is a type of chemical bonding. Chemical bonding refers to the application of a liquid-based bonding agent to the web; when binders are applied to the unbonded web. Water based binder systems are the most widely used but powdered adhesives, foam and in some cases organic solvent solutions can be found.

A binder is sprayed onto the carded web, and then cured in an oven, run through a calender, or heated over rollers called “cans”.
